This Privacy Policy applies to the Fly Tyer mobile application and related public information website operated by BENTO. This privacy policy applies to the Fly Tyer app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by BENTO (the “Application”). BENTO is referred to in this policy as the “Service Provider”.
Fly Tyer is a fly tying, river hatch calendar, fly pattern guide, fishing journal, and performance tracking utility. It helps users track hatch windows, browse pattern suggestions, record streamside observations, and review catch performance metrics such as Takes, Hookups, Landed catches, ratings, and notes.
What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?
The Application does not collect, log, or store any personal information when you download and use it. Registration is not required.
If the Application is used with an active internet connection, technical protocol data, such as an ephemeral IP address, may be transmitted only to facilitate network connectivity. This data is not retained, profiled, or used for tracking by the Service Provider.
Does the Application collect precise real-time location information?
No. The Application does not collect precise real-time location information from your mobile device.
Any river names, fishing locations, water condition notes, hatch observations, pattern preferences, or trip notes that a user chooses to enter are intended to remain on the user’s device unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.
Do third parties see or have access to information obtained by the Application?
Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, no personal data is shared with third parties.
The Service Provider does not sell personal data, does not create advertising profiles, and does not use app data for cross-app tracking.
Data Retention
Fly Tyer does not collect or retain personal data on the Service Provider’s servers. The Service Provider does not keep copies of personal app records, fishing journal entries, pattern notes, hatch selections, or performance metrics.
If local app data exists on the user’s device, such as river selections, hatch notes, pattern preferences, fishing journal entries, water temperature values, depth values, weather notes, target species, observed hatches, Takes, Hookups, Landed counters, star ratings, trip notes, unit preferences, default home river, reminder settings, or app settings, that data remains local to the device unless a future feature clearly states otherwise.
Data Deletion
Because the Application does not collect personal data through normal use, uninstalling the Application removes the app from your device and removes locally stored app data according to the device operating system’s standard uninstall behavior.
If you voluntarily contact the Service Provider by email or through another external channel, you may request deletion of that voluntarily provided message information by contacting support@bentosp.ink.
What are my opt-out rights?
Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, no opt-out from app data collection is required. You may stop using the Application at any time, and you may uninstall it using your device’s standard uninstall process.
Children
The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age, or a higher age where required by applicable law. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit personal data from children or market to them.
Since the Application does not collect personal information through normal use, children’s personal data is not collected by the app. If a child voluntarily contacts the Service Provider through another channel, a parent or guardian may contact the Service Provider to request deletion.
Security
Because the Application does not collect personal data, the risk of personal data exposure through the Application is minimal. However, no system is completely secure. The Service Provider uses reasonable safeguards for any information voluntarily provided outside the app, such as email correspondence.
Fly Tyer is a reference and journal utility
Fly Tyer is a fly tying, hatch calendar, pattern reference, fishing journal, and performance tracking utility. It is not fishing license software, legal regulation software, guaranteed catch prediction software, professional guiding software, wildlife management software, an official river authority tool, or a replacement for local fishing laws, permits, water safety, conservation rules, ethical angling practices, local knowledge, or professional judgment.
Users are responsible for following local laws, fishing permits, seasonal restrictions, catch limits, conservation rules, ethical angling practices, and safe river conditions.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by posting an updated Privacy Policy with a new effective date. Where required by law, the Service Provider will request consent before material changes take effect.
